Air Canada’s Tony Celio Retires
Tony Celio, Specialty Sales Manager at Air Canada, is retiring after 37 years in a variety of roles with the airline.
Celio announced his retirement, effective today (May 1) on a post on his LinkedIn account, saying that he’s embarking on “the next chapter in my life.”
He writes: “My journey at Air Canada has been nothing short of incredible and I’m grateful for having had the honour and privilege to work with incredibly talented individuals throughout my career.”
And he continues: “Aviation has been a passion of mine ever since I was a child and I owe it to my dad for instilling the bug in me with our Sunday drives to Pearson Airport, on the rooftop of the old T1 parking garage watching the planes arrive and take off.”
Those drives made it a pretty easy decision, Celio says, “when the opportunity came to join Air Canada back in 1988, I didn’t think twice and here I am 37 years later looking back at my incredible journey with this AMAZING airline which allowed me the opportunity to meet amazing people and travel to many destinations across the World.”
In his early years with the airline, Celio was a Station Attendant at YYZ airport in Ground Operations, then moving on to be a Customer Service agent in the Toronto Call centre and Groups, followed by various roles within the Sales organization to his final role as Manager, Specialty Sales.
Celio writes: “Thank you to my entire AC family and Travel Industry Partners for the countless memories and friendships we’ve created over the years, which I will definitely cherish and remember every time I look up at an Air Canada plane flying overhead.”
Good luck Tony … enjoy your retirement …
