Sunwing is gearing up for the launch of flights from Thunder Bay to Cancun, Mexico and Varadero, Cuba. It will be offering weekly flights from Thunder Bay to Cancun on Mondays starting on Dec. 12, 2022 until April 10, 2023, and weekly flights to Varadero on Tuesdays starting on Dec. 13, 2022 until April 11, 2023. Simplification and convenience are the top concerns of travellers in the post-COVID world according to IATA’s 2022 Global Passenger Survey (GPS). DOT Grants Canada Jetlines US Route Authority
Canada Jetlines Operations Ltd. reports that the United States Department of Transportation has granted it economic authority to serve the U.S. This exemption is effective immediately and will be replaced by a permanent foreign air carrier permit. Canada Jetlines requires Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approvals before it can start operating to the United States and expects this process to be completed before the end of the year. Air Canada and Emirates have launched their codeshare cooperation which will allow customers of the carriers to enjoy seamless connectivity to 46 markets spanning three continents, including to destinations across the Americas, the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Indian subcontinent.
