Air Transat customers can now upload and validate their destination health documents when checking in online.
This will allow them to obtain their digital boarding pass before arriving at the airport and ensure they meet entry requirements.
The digital health document validation tool, which uses a technology developed by Amadeus, is currently in a test phase and will be deployed in three phases.
For now, it will only validate the COVID-19 test and will be available for a selection of routes.
In the coming months, it will be extended to the entire Air Transat network and will...

The combination of the spread of Omicron and the flu season has resulted in a significant increase in sick leave among staff at Finnair and its partners and in order to cope with the resource challenges, Finnair is now reducing its traffic program for the month of February by around 20% and offering other flight options to its customers.
The carrier said that the flight cancellations will enable it to operate a more flexible schedule and adapt to the expected rise in sick leave across different functions at Finnair and its partners.

In reporting the results, the industry association notes that because comparisons between 2021 and 2020 monthly results are distorted by the extraordinary impact of COVID-19, unless otherwise noted all comparisons are to November 2019, which followed a normal demand pattern.
Broken down, the...
