Porter Airlines takes off to Costa Rica with new service
Porter Airlines is taking off to Costa Rica with the start of roundtrip service between Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR); marking the airline’s first route to Central America. The Toronto-Liberia route operates up to six times weekly. It is the fourth in a series of new southern routes that Porter is launching this winter, including Cancun, Puerto Vallarta and Nassau. Results of the Air Transat pilots strike vote were released this morning, with 99% of pilots voting ‘Yes’ to strike if necessary. IATA reports that global passenger demand growth for October 2025 continued to accelerate, with highlights including: Total demand, measured in revenue passenger kilometers (RPK), was up 6.6% compared to October 2024.
