Sunwing Airlines has taken the keys, so to speak, of its newest acquisition with the delivery of its first Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. The aircraft - which will be flown from Seattle to Toronto later today (Friday) - is the first of four new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft acquired by the company as part of a lease agreement concluded with Air Lease Corporation in late 2014. A Flying Start With The Sunwing Foundation
Following an outpouring of support for the Sunwing Foundations recently launched Flying Start initiative, 250 backpacks filled with gently-used childrens books, essential school supplies and other necessities for learning were sent to Jamaican schools via Sunwing Airlines last month. The backpacks were delivered to schoolchildren across the Caribbean island, including students at Hastings Infant School, Kinloss Basic School and Salt Marsh Infant School. Light Fare From Lufthansa Group
This summer, Lufthansa Group passengers will be able to book an Economy “Light” fare on routes to North America served by Lufthansa, SWISS, Brussels Airlines and Austrian Airlines. At the basic rate, the new fare is the least expensive option for price-conscious passengers travelling with carry-on luggage and who do not require ticket flexibility. AC Set To Launch YVR-Melbourne Service
Air Canada is upbeat about the June start of its year-round, nonstop Vancouver-Melbourne service, which will be the third Australian city to see Air Canada aircraft touch down. The airline held a Toronto gathering Thursday to promote the service, with Air Canada's Marc Roy saying the carrier will use a B787 Dreamliner on the route, and labelling it an “amazing aircraft.” The route will initially see three flights a week.
