Contingency plans are in place as London's Heathrow Airport prepares for a strike tomorrow (Sept. 12).
Extra staff are being put in place at Heathrow to cope with a 24-hour ground handlers strike. Reports say the airport is also bringing in extra “passenger ambassadors” to help minimize disruptions or confusion for passengers.
Despite this, officials at Heathrow are urging passengers to allow extra time for travel through the airport and has advised travellers to check with their airlines if they have any concerns.

A planned pilot walkout has forced Lufthansa to cancel more than 100 Munich flights today (Sept. 10) affecting thousands of passengers.
The eight-hour walkout by members of the Vereinigung Cockpit union is the third strike at the German airline in two weeks.

Air Canada has reported a record system load factor of 89.8% for the month of August, versus 89.5% in August 2013, an all-time record for any month in the corporation's history, representing an increase of 0.3 percentage points on a system-wide capacity increase of 10.4%.
