WHISTLER DELAYS CLOSING DATE
Snow conditions remain good at Whistler Blackcomb, prompting operators to extend the closing date for one-half of the double-mountain resort. Whistler Mt. itself shut down ski/snowboard operations on April 21 for the season, but Blackcomb has announced that it will stay open for skiers and boarders until May 27. Deals are available to take advantage of the sun and warm temperatures, including the SPF Spring Unlimited Pass for $229. Also, a $199 down payment can lock in a price of $1,330 for a 2013/2014 seasons pass, and allows skiing for the rest of this spring season....
SPINNAKERS BRINGS BREWPUB EXPERIENCE TO AIRPORT
Visitors travelling through Victoria International Airport this summer will have more to love at one of Canada's favourite landing strips, with the opening of a local Victoria eatery in the post-security terminal. The 42nd annual Queen Lili'uokalani Long Distance Outrigger Canoe Races starts Aug. 30 and runs through Sept. 2. The world's largest long distance canoe race is organized and hosted by Kai Opua Canoe Club, started 1929 in Kona. The Queen's Race attracts six-person crews from Hawaii, all throughout the US and international crews from as far away as Australia, Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, Cook Islands, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Tahiti and the United Kingdom. FLY OVER CANADA’ SET FOR DEBUT

HOTEL CULTURE CELEBRATED
Commissioned by the Vancouver Art Gallery as a major exhibition, "Grand Hotel"charts the global evolution of that most well-known icon, the hotel. The two-floor exhibit examines the historical and contemporary design of the hotel, following its evolution from a utilitarian structure to a cultural phenomenon.
