The return of the vow renewal ceremony at the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach marks a major milestone in the progress of hotel renovations that began in March. Hawaii's tourism economy is on pace for a record-breaking year in 2012 with double digit increases in visitor arrivals and expenditures through June. During the first six months, Hawaii welcomed 3.9 million guests and generated US$7.1 billion in expenditures - an increase of US$1.2 billion over the same period last year. WestJet has leased two Boeing 757-200 aircraft from Thomas Cook Airlines to deliver more non-stop, daytime service between Calgary and Honolulu and Maui, and between Edmonton and Maui. Pending regulatory approval, flights are scheduled to start Dec. 13 and continue through April 21, 2013. WestJet will operate two flights per week Calgary-Honolulu; four flights weekly Calgary-Maui; and three flights weekly Edmonton-Maui.
