Caravelle Hotel To Close For Renovations
St. Croix, US Virgin Islands' Caravelle Hotel & Casino will temporarily close on April 30, 2018 to complete renovations due to damage caused by Hurricane Maria, a rare, maximum-strength Category 5 storm that hit the island Sept. 20. As a landing place for emergency personnel, the Caravelle is continuing to house relief workers as they work to repair infrastructure around the island. Following a multi-million dollar renovation, InterContinental Hotels Group reports the opening of the newly renovated 162-room Holiday Inn Express and Suites, South Lake Buena Vista.
