Coast opens first hotel in Yukon
Vancouver-based Coast Hotels is now taking reservations for its first property in the Yukon capital of Whitehorse. The Coast High Country Inn is a former independent property that now offers the Coast Rewards loyalty program. The hotel has 82 guest rooms including 22 suites, plus meeting space, a restaurant, pub, exercise room and next-door access to the Yukon Convention Centre. Big times at Blue Mountain
Blue Mountain is investing $10-million to expand its ski and snowboard terrain and add new trails for winter 2013-2014. The expansion includes an additional 64 acres of terrain, a new high-speed, six-person chairlift and six new trails. Snowmaking infrastructure and night lighting will be installed on three of the six trails. Sandals Resorts has announced it will soon introduce free Wi-Fi and complimentary long-distance phone calls in Jamaica for select room categories in 2013.
