In an initiative designed to earn travel agents more money, TravelBrands' Sunquest division is moving non-commissionable fees (surcharges) into the base price of its packages – making them commissionable – effective immediately.
According to Bryan Klompas, executive vice-president, TravelBrands, under the new pricing model agents will earn, on average, an extra $40 per double booking.
The only non-commissionable portion will be taxes and fees charged by end-suppliers such as airlines.
