Canada Jetlines Operations Ltd. is ramping up to launch its operations out of Toronto Pearson International Airport with a targetted start date in the summer of 2022. Toronto Pearson is Canada’s largest airport, and pre-COVID served 50.5 million arriving and departing passengers annually. KLM Nominates Rintel As New CEO
The Supervisory Board of KLM intends to nominate Marjan Rintel as the new President and CEO of KLM. Rintel is currently President and CEO of Dutch Railways (NS), where she has worked since November 2014. Rintel is no stranger to KLM and - before joining NS - worked for the airline for 15 years in various positions, including operations, sales and marketing at KLM and Air France-KLM. Air Tahiti Nui is launching non-stop service between Papeete, Tahiti (PPT) and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) beginning Oct. 4 using its Boeing 787-9 Tahitian Dreamliner. The twice-weekly route will operate from Papeete on Tuesday and Saturday, returning from Seattle on Wednesday and Sunday. Lynx Takes Off From Calgary
Lynx Air took to the skies yesterday (April 7) with its inaugural flight from Calgary to Vancouver. The carrier operates a fleet of three brand-new Boeing 737 aircraft and will ramp up quickly over the coming weeks. IATA is reporting that air travel posted a strong rebound in February 2022 compared to January 2022, as Omicron-related impacts moderated outside of Asia.
