Rodrigo Esponda, managing director of the Los Cabos Tourism Board, reports Canadian visitations during the January-July period rose 17%, with Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto among cities sending sharp increases in the number of visitors to Los Cabos.

Switzerland Tourism is inviting those who enjoy true winter vacations to experience one in the country where winter tourism began.
Pascal Prinz, who oversees Switzerland Tourism's Canadian office, told a Tuesday Toronto gathering that the concept of winter wonderland holidays began in the 19th century when British tourists began vacationing in a snow-clad St. Moritz.
