WestJet has reached a tentative agreement with CUPE Local 4070 – which represents the WestJet Inflight (Cabin Crew) group.
Both parties now await the ratification vote to be put forward to membership.

The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) has unveiled details of a robust new COVID-19 PCR and antigen testing research program at Toronto Pearson. That’s the bottom line in a newly released analysis by IATA of the airline industry’s expectations for the coming 12 months.
Back in November 2020, IATA’s analysis had indicated that airlines would turn cash positive in the fourth quarter of 2021; however, now at the industry level, airlines are now not expected to be cash positive until 2022.
Estimates for cash burn in 2021 have ballooned to the $75 billion to $95 billion range from a previously anticipated $48 billion.

Transat A.T. Inc. has extended the termination date of its $250 million short-term loan facility by three months.
The facility had been arranged on Oct. 10, 2020, with Export Development Canada and National Bank of Canada as lead arranger.
The loan facility will now terminate at the earliest date between June 30, 2021, and the closing of the arrangement with Air Canada (the "Arrangement").

The federal government's preliminary list of authorized quarantine hotels that was released last week has now (Feb 22) been expanded.
On the web page where the quarantine hotels are listed, it also notes that hotel stopover bookings are managed by GB Travel Canada Inc., and are available by phone only.
