Sunwing Takes Off To Cienfuegos
Sunwing is expanding its offerings to Cuba this winter with the addition of a seasonal flight to Cienfuegos, which is located on the island's southern coast. Direct flights from Toronto will operate on Mondays between Dec. 17, 2018 and April 22, 2019 inclusive. Austrian Airlines will introduce year-round flights to and from Montreal-Vienna, using Boeing 767 aircraft. The new service will operate daily throughout the summer schedule and five times per week during the winter season. Air Canada is taking off with a new year-round service between Toronto and Vienna beginning April 29, 2019. The daily flights will operate with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner equipment. IATA reports that global passenger traffic data for August 2018 shows that demand (measured in total revenue passenger kilometers or RPKs) climbed 6.4% compared to the year-ago period. This was slightly above the 6.1% annual increase for July. August capacity (available seat kilometers or ASKs) increased by 5.5%, and load factor climbed 0.7% percentage point to 85.3%, which was the highest for any month since at least 1990.
